Virgo and Aquarius Love Compatibility
When a Virgo and an Aquarius come together, it's hit or miss. Love or hate. On and off again. As a couple, these two can't quite get their act together, making long-term love difficult (but not impossible) to maintain. They can either bring out the best in each other or the worst. In any case, it will not be ambiguous. They'll either cling to or reject each other from the start!
Aquarians are one of the most humanitarian signs, and they are passionate about helping others. Virgo is similarly interested in helping others, although their motivations are usually very different. Aquarius wishes to have a significant impact on the world, whereas Virgo is content to assist family, friends, and neighbors one modest work at a time. While helping others is certainly something they may bond over, it is unlikely to keep them together for the rest of their lives.
Virgo is controlled by Mercury, the fast-thinking planet, and is quite rational. Aquarius is ruled by unyielding Saturn and eccentric Uranus, and it also has a logical side. They work well together and are great problem solvers. But Aquarius is far more prone to think beyond the box. Frustration can emerge when the Aquarius spouse wishes to broaden Virgo's views, but Virgo refuses because they are quite content doing things the same way they have always done.
Surprisingly, Virgo is a mutable sign, but Aquarius is fixed, so you might expect the reverse when it comes to their ability to change things. Mutable signs respond to change and are more flexible than stable signs, which are stabilizers. The major difference here, however, is that Virgo is a mutable earth sign and Aquarius is a fixed air. When combined with their elemental designations, it is evident why Virgo is more rigid and Aquarius is more fluid. As an earth sign, Virgo defers to their stable nature by expressing themselves in a much more logical, systematic manner. In contrast, Aquarius, as an air sign, is afforded a lot more flexibility and freedom to express themselves—all of which contributes to their up and down couple-dom.
Romantically, neither sign is overly passionate. Romance in the traditional sense is typically lost on both Virgo and Aquarius. However, this does not preclude the possibility of having enjoyable sex. Aquarius is a lot more open-minded and unrestrained lover who may teach Virgo to open up and try new positions and tactics. In exchange, Virgo delivers loyalty and honesty, something Aquarius does not normally ask from their relationships.
Once a link is formed, Virgo is far more likely to desire the relationship to be exclusive, whereas Aquarians rarely take the traditional route. Aquarius may be willing to experiment with open partnerships, polyamory, or other alternative love lifestyles that Virgo is not interested in.
